Daily Declassified : THE TIKTOK LAND GRAB

DAILY DECLASSIFIED: THE TIKTOK LAND GRAB

(by Wes J & Ash R)

DECLASSIFIED FILE // OPERATION: FEED CONTROL
(Filed under: Digital Eminent Domain)

THE HOOK
You didn’t lose TikTok because of “security concerns.”
You lost it because the U.S. government decided it wanted the keys to the kingdom — and that kingdom was your data.

THE BREAKDOWN
When Congress waves the “national security” flag, you should check what’s really underneath it. In TikTok’s case, that flag was covering a massive land grab — not for physical soil, but for the most valuable real estate in the world right now: user data and influence pipelines.

The Restrict Act and similar bills dressed it up as “protecting Americans from Chinese surveillance.” Cute. But here’s the ugly:

  • U.S.-based data brokers already sell more detailed location and browsing data to corporations and government agencies than TikTok ever collected.

  • Several of the lawmakers pushing the ban are directly invested in competing social media platforms.

  • Forcing TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, to sell to a U.S. owner doesn’t “secure” your data — it just changes which billionaire gets the backdoor key.

And let’s not forget the free advertising bump to Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms that play much nicer with government requests for content takedowns and algorithm tweaks.

The truth? This isn’t about security. It’s about control over what you see, say, and share.

REDACTED NOTE – Ash & Ink
They don’t care who spies on you they care who gets the profit from it.

FINAL VERDICT
Next time they ban an app “for your safety,” remember: your safety isn’t what’s being protected. Your feed is being rezoned, your voice is being moderated, and your attention is being sold off to the highest bidder.

Will you just scroll on… or will you ask who owns the scroll?
