Blacklisted by Silence #2: Full Circle’s Standoff with Ash & Ink

Blacklisted by Silence #2: Full Circle’s Standoff with Ash & Ink

A few years ago, we approached Full Circle Bookstore—the largest independent bookstore in Oklahoma with 60,000 titles and a built-in café in the peaceful 50 Penn Place mallmorganweissblog.com+9fullcirclebooks.com+9fullcirclebooks.com+9. They brand themselves as a heartfelt, community-centered venue that supports local voices, book clubs, and LGBTQ patrons.

We asked them to host a free digital book drop of 2die4, a .99¢ release that channels 100% of profits to LGBTQ suicide‑prevention. All we needed was a mention—no shelf space, no logistics.

Instead, we got this reply from General Manager Dana Meister:

“Unfortunately, we do not market books that we do not sell, and we do not sell digital books. We support the LGBTQ+ community…and applaud your efforts…Should you decide to publish this book in the future, we would be honored to have it on our shelves.”

Translation: “We’ll support you—just not now.”

🔍 The Hypocrisy

  1. Largest indie bookstore in OKC, a self-described pillar of community, with event spaces, café, and local publishinginstagram.com+8mapquest.com+8blackoutcoffee.com+8.

  2. Claimed support for LGBTQ issues—but refused promotion of a book that funds LGBTQ suicide prevention.

  3. Cited “digital only” as excuse—while thousands of digital formats are sold online daily.

Full Circle isn’t just turning away an indie release—they’re rejecting a critical, charitable initiative that aligns with their stated values

What We Demand

Clarity and Accountability:

  • Why refuse a donation-driven project aimed directly at LGBTQ youth?

  • Why cite “digital only” when digital is the now and the future?

  • Why promote your inclusivity only when it costs nothing?

Full Circle’s silence here is as loud as Craig’s was.
And we’re done letting them ghost us.

🗣️ Join the Reckoning

If you’ve been ignored by “community pillars” or have ideas on how we can push harder—share this post, tag Full Circle, comment below.
This isn’t vendetta—it’s accountability.

Because community demands action, not platitudes.
